Celebrating One Year In Business

Bystander Magazine Article by Katherine Phillips

A year ago I met Zoe Oakes and Maria Locke. These lovely ladies were starting a business to be called Hills Housekeeping and were both working in schools at the time. They hoped they would pick up enough work to be able to consider giving up their jobs.

Zoe and Maria did a fantastic job cleaning my house and got an excellent response to the review. Within a month they had handed in their notice and the business was flying!

Zoe and Maria now clean for me fortnightly and their work is exemplary. I’m incredibly busy running two businesses and it’s a huge relief to know that I can ask them to help with whatever needs doing at the time which can be quite an ask!

Zoe chatted to me about life a year on. She explained “Hills Housekeeping offer a personalised housekeeping service with all your needs in mind. We wash clothes, iron, empty the dishwasher, change beds, clean fridges, the list is endless and flexible each visit. The length and frequency of visits is your choice. We allow you to buy back your evenings and weekends to do the things you enjoy.”

Hills Housekeeping now have an incredible twelve employees. They are currently looking for a full time member of staff as they are constantly expanding to keep up with demand. Anyone thinking of applying to join this dynamic team needs to be a hard working and willing to clean thoroughly and efficiently.

They also DBS check all their staff and are fully insured. Zoe and Maria themselves have also taken on extra training and are now covered to clean a crime scene.

Maria and Zoe pride themselves on being reliable, always on time and with very high standards.

Hills Housekeeping will go to homes, shops, salons or offices. They can do a thorough clean for an end of tenancy or open house for a house sale. A friend of mine used Hills for the latter and got five interested parties on the day and is now looking forward to much quicker house move than anticipated. They are also contractors for Intercounty and other local Estate Agents and were delighted when they were recently awarded contractor of the month by Intercounty.

Hills can send an individual to a job or a pair, depending on what is required. If you are out it isn’t a problem. If you want a couple of people to do a job quicker then that is your choice too.

Maria and Zoe have grown Hills Housekeeping at an amazing rate because they are so professional, excellent at what they do and flexible at creating a bespoke service that suits the needs of the individual client or business.

I wish them a very happy first birthday and am confident that they will deservedly grow even more in their second year.
